Sun Xue Chang – Master Luthier
Xue Chang Sun is one of the top makers in China. He began making his first instruments in the late 1960's as an apprenticeat a large Beijing instrument company.
Mr. Sun won a gold medal for craftsmanship and a silver medal for tone in cello making at the National Violin Making Competition in China in 1987. In 2002 he won a certificate of merit for bass workmanship at the Violin Society of America's 15th International Competition and Exhibition in the USA.
His workshop was established in 1995. His passion for beauty and craftsmanship for instrument making is appreciated among some of the most prestigious luthiers and shops around the world.
